About Grant

Grant Barnette is a professional ultra trail runner and endurance athlete from Lenoir, North Carolina. Grant attended West Caldwell High School where he was a standout athlete competing in Soccer, Wrestling, Track & Field, and particularly Cross Country. He attended Mars Hill College on an athletic scholarship.

In 2016, at age 20, Grant hiked the Appalachian Trail (northbound) and was even featured as one of the interviewed hikers in Karl Meltzer's documentary "Made to Be Broken". In 2017 Grant hiked the Pacific Crest Trail (northbound).

Grant can be seen running in both his native Appalachian Mountains and Utah's Wasatch Mountains, as he splits his time working and training full time. 

Whenever he's not running he can be found working in the Sports Marketing department at Pit Viper Sunglasses based in Salt Lake City, UT.
